Administrative & Financial Secretary
Monica grew up in the Starnes Cove community on the west side of Asheville. She and her husband, Brent, joined Starnes Cove Baptist Church in 2000. She began serving in the children’s ministry during the same year and she continues to oversee the children’s ministry. She started her job as the financial and administrative secretary in 2005. She loves her job, but she loves her church family even more.
Monica enjoys serving in children’s ministry, spending time with her family, and being outdoors. She and Brent have two daughters and they live in Haywood County.
As a life-long resident of Asheville, Linda joined Starnes Cove Baptist in 1994. She began her position as Publications Secretary in 2004. Among other duties, she publishes the weekly bulletins and the monthly newsletters to keep the membership of SCBC up to date on happenings of the church.
Linda graduated from Enka High School in June 1966 and has been married to her husband, Steve since July 23, 1966. They have three grown children, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She retired from Buncombe County Schools, specifically Venable and Sand Hill-Venable Elementary Schools, as a Teacher Assistant in 2001. She was a charter member of the Asheville Symphony Chorus, a current member of the Haywood Choral Society, and is a member of the choir at the church.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading books from the church library, being with her family, and enjoying the wonderful mountains of Western North Carolina!
Kathy grew up in nearby Waynesville. Her mother was the church organist and her father sang in the choir, so she has attended choir practices at church for as long as she can remember.
Kathy moved to Asheville in 1980. She and her husband, Gary, joined SCBC in early 1982, a few months after their marriage. Kathy has served as church pianist since the Fall of 1982. She also serves as the Praise Team leader for our contemporary worship music. She is very thankful for the opportunity to serve the Lord with her musical talents and abilities, and she is very appreciative of the support of her husband, which allows her to serve in this capacity.
In October 2014, Kathy retired from City/County Government in Buncombe County where she had spent over 34 years working in Information Technology. She and Gary have two grown children who are both married and are serving the Lord where they are (Asheville and Austin, Texas). They have one grandchild—a precious little boy who was born in 2018. He is a very bright light in their lives. Kathy currently enjoys spending time with family, sewing, and learning to play guitar. She is grateful for good health and all the blessings that allow her to continue to grow in knowledge and experience with her Lord Jesus Christ.
Carol is a long-time member of Starnes Cove Baptist Church and she has served the church in various roles throughout the years. She has served as the church organist since 1978 and she previously served as the church’s administrative secretary for several years. She is currently a Sunday School teacher for one of our adult classes.

Her husband, Junior, is currently chairman of the security team at the church. They have been married since 1992, and they have two children. Jeanette enjoys gardening, especially working in her flower beds, as well as doing crafts.
